Banksy’s 2010 documentary Exit By way of the Present Store tells the story of Thierry Guetta, aka Mr Brainwash, a avenue artist in Los Angeles who runs a classic clothes store and obsesses over filming his environment. Guetta subsequently rose to fame and rumours started to unfold that he was, in truth, Banksy himself, and that the documentary was a hoax. These theories have been expressly contradicted by many sources.
