Mr Maduro was declared the winner of the election hours after polls closed on July 28, however there have been issues in regards to the transparency of the method, because the opposition collected tally sheets from greater than 80% of digital voting machines, posted them on-line and mentioned the tallies present opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez received twice as many votes as Mr Maduro.
