For generations the Gurung neighborhood in Taap, about 175km (110 miles) west of the capital, Kathmandu, and different villages within the districts of Lamjung and Kaski, have scoured the steep Himalayan cliffs for honey. The villagers say the proceeds, break up amongst them, are drying up because the variety of hives has declined over the previous decade, though some additionally earn a dwelling from rising crops of rice, corn, millet and wheat
