A white powder in a letter that hospitalised an aide to Belgium’s prime minister, Alexander De Croo, has been recognized as strychnine, a poison that may be deadly.
The Brussels prosecutor’s workplace revealed on Wednesday the character of the substance that was despatched final November to authorities buildings, together with the workplace of De Croo.
Belgian media reported that an unnamed member of De Croo’s workplace had obtained hospital therapy after accidents to their fingers after opening the letter.
