Utah man accused of threatening to shoot up NYC synagogues arrested getting into Lincoln Tunnel: cops


A Utah man who allegedly threatened to shoot up New York Metropolis synagogues in a collection of social media posts was arrested as he tried to cross into Manhattan by way of the Lincoln Tunnel Friday night time, based on police and sources.

Luis Ramirez was taken into custody round 5:30 p.m. by Port Authority cops in New Jersey after authorities have been alerted to a rash of antisemitic posts he allegedly made on his X account, the NYPD and sources stated.

In a single submit, Ramirez cited Central Synagogue on Lexington Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, police stated.

The NYPD and Port Authority Police have been made conscious Ramirez was touring to the Massive Apple from out of state and have been capable of nab him earlier than he made it to Manhattan, police stated.

Ramirez, who has no legal file, was allegedly present in possession of a firearm when he was stopped earlier on a street journey in Kansas Metropolis, ABC Information reported, citing police sources.

He had no weapons in his automobile when he was stopped outdoors the Lincoln Tunnel on Friday night time, sources stated.

No expenses have been filed because the investigation is ongoing, police stated.

Ramirez is being held at Hudson County Correctional Heart in Kearny, sources stated.

He’s anticipated to be arraigned Saturday.
