President-elect Donald Trump tapped a longtime ally for his cupboard Thursday, nominating former congressman Doug Collins to steer the Veterans Affairs division.
Collins, 58, represented rural northern Georgia for eight years earlier than retiring from Congress following an unsuccessful 2020 marketing campaign for US Senate.
“We should handle our courageous women and men in uniform,” Trump stated in an announcement, “and Doug will likely be an incredible advocate for our Energetic Obligation Servicemembers, Veterans, and Navy Households to make sure they’ve the help they want.”
