A kite surfer in Northern California was rescued from a distant stretch of seaside with no manner out after spelling “HELP” on the sand utilizing close by rocks.
His rescue plea — made out of Davenport Seaside about 25 miles southwest of San Jose — was noticed by a passenger in a passing non-public helicopter, who known as 911 to alert authorities.
Dramatic video posted Sunday by the Cal Hearth San Mateo-Santa Cruz Unit exhibits the unnamed surfer being hoisted to security by a helicopter.
The helicopter was unable to securely land on the seaside, so a primary responder was winched down from the hovering chopper to retrieve the surfer.
The surfer didn’t require any medical consideration — solely assist returning to dry land.
It’s not clear how lengthy he was caught on the seaside.
The extraction was a joint effort between Santa Cruz and Santa Clara hearth departments, Cal Hearth and California State Parks.
