Rescued US astronaut Butch Wilmore stated he’s “grateful” President Trump is taking an “energetic function” in area flight applications — saying it’s “refreshing” the present administration has proven a eager curiosity.
In his first interview since returning to Earth after being caught in area for 9 months, Wilmore informed Fox Information’ “America’s Newsroom” that the president — in addition to SpaceX founder Elon Musk — had earned his belief.
“I’ve no purpose to not consider something they are saying as a result of they’ve earned my belief,” Wilmore, 62, stated.
“For that, I’m grateful that our nationwide leaders truly are coming in and collaborating in our human area flight program, which we see is vastly necessary, [of] world significance, they usually take an energetic function. And primarily based on the previous and what we see now… it’s refreshing, not simply refreshing, it’s empowering.”
Requested what he would say to Trump and Musk, Wilmore responded, “I respect you. I belief you. You’ve given me no purpose to not, both of them.”
