The proprietor of the vacationer helicopter that plunged into the Hudson River on Thursday, killing six folks, instructed The Publish he’s “devastated” by the tragic mishap.
“It’s devastation,” New York Helicopter Excursions CEO Michael Roth stated. “I’m a father and a grandfather and to have youngsters on there, I’m devastated. I’m completely devastated.
“The one factor I do know by watching a video of the helicopter falling down, that the primary rotor blades weren’t on the helicopter,” a visibly shaken Roth stated. “And I haven’t seen something like that in my 30 years being in enterprise, within the helicopter enterprise. The one factor I may guess – I bought no clue – is that it both had a chicken strike or the primary rotor blades failed. I’ve no clue. I don’t know.”
FDNY officers stated the Bell 206 Chopper slit in half and went down close to Pier 40 on West Houston Road and West Road round 3:15 pm.
Sources stated six folks – two adults, three youngsters and the pilot – had been killed within the wreck, with the victims recognized as vacationers from Spain.
“That is horrific,” Roth stated. “However you gotta keep in mind one thing, these are machines and so they break.”
