NYC will probably be hit with heavy rain, coast may get 50 mph winds

Heavy rain and whipping winds of as much as 50 miles per hour are forecast to sock New York Sunday afternoon.

“It’s trying like an inch or two of rain, and it will likely be fairly gusty. We may see some periodic 30 to 40 mile per hour gusts all through town,” Fox Climate meteorologist Cody Braud advised The Publish Saturday. 

“And nearer to the coast, it might be upwards of fifty miles an hour. I wouldn’t be stunned if we’re placed on a wind advisory for tomorrow.”

The showers will begin round 3 or 4 p.m. on Sunday and won’t let up till Monday morning.

The tri-state storm comes as lethal tornadoes have swept by the South and the Midwest, killing 16 individuals.

“It will likely be a few waves, we’ll get a secondary wave into the nighttime hours,” he mentioned.
