Nobel prize in physics given to researchers for pioneering work on machine studying

The Nobel prize in physics has been awarded to 2 researchers for his or her groundbreaking work on machines that be taught.

John Hopfield at Princeton College and Geoffrey Hinton on the College of Toronto had been honoured for his or her pioneering work on synthetic neural networks which underlie a lot of recent synthetic intelligence.

Introduced by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm, the winners share 11m Swedish kronor (about £810,000).

The Nobel committee mentioned the prize was given “for foundational discoveries and innovations that allow machine studying with synthetic neural networks”.
