A Michigan couple who was being held “hostage” in a Mexican jail for almost a month have been launched on Thursday and are heading house.
Navy veteran Paul Akeo and his spouse Christy have been launched after 30 days in custody for allegedly defrauding hospitality firm Palace Resorts.
“Paul and Christy Akeo are coming house. Mission completed,” Rep. Tom Barrett (R-Mi.) wrote in a submit to X.
The couple was arrested on March 4 after arriving in Cancun for a trip the place their passports have been flagged.
The arrests have been seen as a type of retaliation towards the couple for difficult prices made on their bank card by a resort throughout a keep in 2021.
