Dan Worsley, the Met’s chief finance officer, advised the committee earlier this month that Scotland Yard was nonetheless “working by way of what the [Government’s] extra police grant monies means for us, and what the circumstances are hooked up, when it comes to what meaning for our web recruitment plans, and so I don’t have an end-point [of officer numbers] for the 2025/26 monetary 12 months, till we’ve labored by way of how that cash shall be utilized”.
