After the second of two publicised trials, one in every of which was televised, the Menendez brothers, Lyle and Erik, have been convicted in 1996 of first-degree homicide. They have been sentenced to life in jail with out the potential of parole for killing their dad and mom, Jose and Kitty Menendez, in 1989.
