The newsreader Huw Edwards has resigned and left the BBC, the company has mentioned.
A BBC spokesperson mentioned: “Huw Edwards has at the moment resigned and left the BBC. After 40 years of service, Huw has defined that his choice was made on the idea of medical recommendation from his medical doctors.
“The BBC has accepted his resignation which it believes will enable all events to maneuver ahead. We don’t imagine it acceptable to remark additional.”
