A helicopter crashed into the Hudson River Thursday afternoon, in line with hearth officers.
Rescue efforts are underway after the chopper went down close to Pier 40 on West Houston Road and West Road round 3:15 p.m., the New York Metropolis Hearth Division advised The Put up.
Witnesses on social media described a “loud thumping noise” when the helicopter crashed, with what seemed to be a damaged propeller.
FDNY Land Marine items are on scene performing rescue operations, officers stated.
It wasn’t instantly clear if there have been any casualties.
