Scotland is being hit first by “pretty persistent rain” and snow, with 50-70mm of rainfall anticipated extensively, 100-140mm in some areas, and as much as 20cm of snow in locations, with a warning in place till midnight on New Yr’s Eve, the forecaster mentioned.
