FDNY firefighter significantly injured after battling blaze within the Bronx

A FDNY firefighter was significantly injured after a fireplace within the Bronx, a division spokesman stated.  

The harm occurred after a blaze at a house on White Plains Street Friday afternoon.   

The firefighter was taken to Jacobi Medical Heart in unknown situation.
