A girl was killed early Saturday after allegedly pointing a handgun at state troopers who have been responding to a reported home dispute, police mentioned.
The incident unfolded round 2:30 a.m. as state troopers arrived at a house on Forrest Drive within the Orange County city of Deerpark, in upstate New York close to the Pennsylvania border.
Officers discovered a person on the entrance porch who instructed them a lady inside the house had a knife and a gun, and had stabbed him within the abdomen.
When the girl, 69, emerged minutes later, she appeared to level a black handgun at cops — and two of them opened hearth, state police mentioned.
The girl, who has not been publicly recognized, was taken to Bon Secours Group Hospital in Port Jervis and later died.
The person’s non-life-threatening accidents have been handled on the scene, authorities mentioned.
