Coast Guard makes dramatic nighttime rescue as heavy swells batter disabled sailboat


SAN JUAN ISLANDS, Wash. – The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two boaters from a disabled sailboat close to the San Juan Islands of Washington state this week.

The incident occurred Monday night time when a person made a mayday name to the Coast Guard saying his sailboat was disabled and drifting towards land.

On the time, seas have been 4-6 toes excessive and winds have been gusting between 25 and 30 mph.

The Coast Guard dispatched a rescue boat and helicopter to the sailboat to rescue the person and a lady onboard.
