A 41-year-old California man allegedly caught red-handed by good Samaritans igniting a brushfire in Los Angeles has been hit with felony arson costs — the twenty seventh bust tied to the blazes which have ravaged the world.
Alejandro Martinez allegedly set a hearth close to Chatsworth Reservoir on Monday and was held by an indignant mob till authorities confirmed as much as slap on the cuffs, Los Angeles County District Lawyer Nathan Hochman mentioned in a press launch Thursday.
“As we proceed to get well from the devastation of latest wildfires, this case is a stark reminder of the grave menace alleged arsonists pose to our communities,” Hochman mentioned in a press release.
“We’ve seen firsthand the destruction, displacement, and lack of life attributable to these mindless acts,” he mentioned. “Let me be clear — should you deliberately set fireplace to our land, endanger our residents, and threaten our first responders, we’ll prosecute you to the fullest extent of the regulation.”
