Police suspect hearth that engulfed Melbourne synagogue was intentionally lit

A big blaze that engulfed a synagogue in south Melbourne on Friday morning is being handled as suspicious by police.

Round 60 firefighters and 17 vans have been referred to as to the Adass Israel synagogue at Ripponlea in Glen Eira round 4.18am.

Fireplace Rescue Victoria’s assistant chief hearth Officer Brayden Sinnamon stated the constructing was “totally concerned” within the hearth and crews used respiration equipment.

He stated two folks have been evacuated with minor accidents however no different properties have been broken.

The hearth has been deemed suspicious, with Victoria Police launching an investigation.

The federal schooling minister, Jason Clare, stated it was “fairly clear” the fireplace had been began on goal.
