Reviews in 2020 then revealed Springer Nature “pressured Taiwanese authors to listing ‘China’ after ‘Taiwan’ of their articles, with some submissions being rejected if authors refused.”
“These actions replicate a troubling willingness to prioritize enterprise pursuits over tutorial integrity, which conflicts with SUNY’s dedication to international scholarly collaboration and the free change of concepts,” the lawmakers stated.
However SUNY defended the deal in a Nov. 7 response.
