Hizzoner doubtless wore the cap in anticipation of a possible subway sequence between the Mets and Yankees.

Certainly, the hat seems to be a throwback from the 2000 World Collection between the rival groups, by which the Yankees swept the Mets 4-1.

However Adams’ alternative baffled baseball followers greater than former Mayor Invoice de Blasio’s allegiance to the Boston Pink Sox.

“Jail,” one other MLB fan tweeted.
