he Duke of Cambridge has congratulated England midfielder Jill Scott on her profession as she introduced her retirement, joking he wouldn’t miss her “slide tackles”.
William, president of the FA, wrote in a private tweet: “A pioneer of Girls’s soccer and an ideal staff participant.
“@JillScottJS8 congratulations on a beautiful profession, it’s been a pleasure to get to know you.
“Tiny bit happy there received’t be any extra slide tackles throughout ‘pleasant’ kickabouts… W”.
The 35-year-old’s resolution to hold up her boots comes simply over three weeks since serving to the Lionesses to Euro 2022 glory.
Scott had been and not using a membership after leaving Manchester Metropolis on the finish of final season.
She earned 161 senior worldwide caps after making her England debut in 2006 and scored 27 objectives for the nationwide aspect.
Scott tweeted about her resolution: “Proper, we’re not crying. I promised myself. I’m retiring from soccer. And I’m leaving with a gold medal swinging from my neck.”
