The US Home of Representatives handed the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, essentially the most bold police reform effort in many years. The laws adjustments would ban chokeholds and ‘certified immunity’ for regulation enforcement and create nationwide requirements for policing in a bid to bolster accountability. California congresswoman Karen Bass, who authored the invoice, cited the beating of Rodney King in 1991 and Floyd’s dying because the catalyst for the bold reform whereas Home Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, mentioned the invoice was ‘laws which can basically remodel the tradition’
