Runner killed after lightning strikes athletes throughout Greek mountain race

One runner was killed and one other severely injured on Sunday once they had been struck by lightning throughout a nighttime path race up a Greek mountain, native police stated.

The 2 males had been competing within the Six Peaks race, which takes place on Mount Falakro in northern Greece, when lightning struck the group of runners. The incident occurred at 4am at an altitude of 1,340 metres (4,400 toes).
