Rudy Giuliani admits to creating ‘false’ statements about Georgia election staff

Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani has admitted that he made “false” statements about two Georgia election officers he accused of rigging the 2020 election.

In an in a single day courtroom submitting signed by Guiliani, Donald Trump’s former private lawyer conceded that he doesn’t contest the allegations made in a defamation swimsuit introduced by Peach State elections staff Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea “Shay” Moss.

“The Defendant Giuliani, for the needs of this litigation solely, doesn’t contest that … such actionable factual statements are false,” the submitting, shared by Politico reporter Kyle Cheney, reads.

Nevertheless, Guiliani, 79, insisted that his statements “didn’t carry which means that’s defamatory, per se” and that they’re “constitutionally protected statements or opinions.”

The 2 election staff filed a defamation swimsuit towards Giuliani, as soon as “America’s mayor,” and conservative information community One America Information Community (OAN) in December 2021, accusing them of spreading false claims that they had dedicated election fraud within the 2020 presidential election.

Guiliani accused the mother-daughter duo of passing USB drives “like vials of heroin or cocaine” whereas they had been counting ballots.

Moss later revealed to the Home Choose Committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot that her mom handed her a ginger mint.

Georgia’s State Election Board dismissed its yearslong investigation into alleged election fraud in June and formally cleared Freeman and Moss.

The fraud claims had been “unsubstantiated and located to haven’t any benefit,” the investigation concluded, NBC reported.
