ishi Sunak has recommended a “busy schedule” meant he was not searching for a gathering with Donald Trump whereas within the US.
The Prime Minister will meet President Joe Biden, who defeated Mr Trump in 2019, on the White Home on Thursday and has already held talks with senior political figures in Congress.
Mr Trump is extensively seen because the frontrunner to safe the Republican nomination to run for president once more in 2024, with Ron DeSantis seen as his most important rival.
Mr DeSantis met two members of Mr Sunak’s Cupboard – James Cleverly and Kemi Badenoch – throughout a visit to the UK in April, forcing Downing Avenue to disclaim any favouritism for the Florida governor over the previous president.
Mr Sunak was requested why he was not searching for a gathering with Mr Trump throughout his go to to Washington.
The Prime Minister mentioned: “I’m assembly key congressional leaders from either side and clearly the president. These are the important thing engagements that I’ve.”
Pushed on why he was not searching for a gathering with Mr Trump he added: “I’ve received a fairly busy schedule as it’s.”
