A collection of managed explosions have been carried out in central London after Britain’s busiest procuring space was evacuated.
Bomb disposal groups carried out the detonations after a cordon was put up across the scene within the Regent Road space of central London.
The explosions have been carried out as a precautionary measure, the Metropolitan police mentioned in a press release.
The drive mentioned shortly after 2.30pm {that a} parked car that had brought about the alarm was discovered to be non-suspicious and the incident had been “totally stood down”.
Counter-terror sources indicated that the incident didn’t initially look like terror-related.
Police mentioned on X earlier: “Highway closures are in place within the neighborhood of Regent Road and New Burlington Road whereas officers examine a suspicious car. Officers have carried out quite a few managed explosions as a precautionary measure.”
