Round two thousand drivers employed by Arriva might stage the walk-out from October 4 if they aren’t provided a pay improve consistent with the RPI inflation charge of 12.3%, the union Unite warned on Wednesday.
It stated drivers within the firm’s north London division would walk-out indefinitely except the dispute is resolved.
The deliberate strike impacts Arriva drivers working from eight depots in north and east London: Ash Grove, Barking, Clapton, Edmonton, Enfield, Palmers Inexperienced, Tottenham and Wooden Inexperienced.
A Unite spokesperson stated it will have an effect on all Arriva routes working from these depots. No less than 40 routes can be affected, it’s understood, bringing widespread journey disruption throughout the capital’s bus community.
