Irate driver chokes MTA bus driver in NYC street rage assault: officers

An irate driver slugged and choked an aged MTA bus driver in a road-rage assault in Brooklyn Tuesday morning, in response to police and transit officers.

Shevaughn Legall, 25, lunged on the 68-year-old B26 driver on Halsey Road close to Lewis Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant after the 2 automobiles collided in a fender bender round 9:20 a.m., authorities and sources mentioned.

Legall began arguing with the bus driver then punched him and wrapped his palms round his neck – inflicting jaw and neck accidents, in response to the NYPD and MTA.

Legall was arrested on the scene and charged with second-degree assault, strangulation and legal obstruction of respiration, police mentioned.

The NYPD couldn’t verify whether or not the assault occurred on or off the bus, however NYC Transit President Demetrius Crichlow mentioned in a press release that the suspect jumped over a barrier.

“The lunatic who vaulted a barrier to viciously punch and strangle a bus operator simply attempting to maneuver New Yorkers round Brooklyn displayed utter disregard for humanity, decency, and the security of passengers on that bus,” Crichlow mentioned. “Are you kidding with that absurd degree of violent disrespect for a public servant?”

“We’re grateful to the NYPD officers who rushed to the scene to arrest this man and now it’s as much as the justice system to verify he spends Thanksgiving locked up.”
