A loud blast was heard as Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida started a speech within the port metropolis of Wakayama on Saturday, creating chaos as the gang tried to flee, native media reported.
The premier was shortly rushed away from the scene and authorities have taken one suspect into custody.
