A South Florida nurse is charged with utilizing over $400,000 in illegally obtained coronavirus aid funds for his personal private bills, federal prosecutors stated.

Giraldo Caraballo, 55, of Miami, obtained a Paycheck Safety Program mortgage and an Financial Damage Catastrophe Mortgage after allegedly submitting false details about his firm, Skilled Abilities Inc., based on a legal grievance.

Investigators stated Caraballo falsely claimed he had 28 staff with a median month-to-month payroll of $168,000.
