He waved his European cap in obvious reference to the “Hatgate” saga that had surrounded the event after US participant Patrick Cantlay was stated to have refused to put on a group cap at frustration at not being paid for participating.
England’s Tyrrell Hatton was described because the “final man standing” as an image of him was posted on the Workforce Europe account on X within the early hours holding a beer in light-up glasses and group pyjamas.
Whereas Eire’s Shane Lowry seemed slightly bleary-eyed as he smiled in an image of him surrounded by the trophy and empty bottles captioned “Goodnight/good morning” posted at 3.30am.
Europe gained again the Ryder Cup by 16½ factors to 11½ on Sunday afternoon in a tense finale to the three-day contest.
It got here after a humbling file 19-9 defeat to the USA two years in the past.
