Amaal Fawzi, 17, who research English Literature and Inventive Writing at college, was named senior runner up within the prize for her poem, ‘Nursing Properties’. She got here second to Sawooly Li, 17, from New Zealand.
The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competitors (QCEC) is the world’s oldest worldwide colleges’ writing contest, delivered by the Royal Commonwealth Society since 1883.
Annually, entrants write on a theme that explores the Commonwealth’s values. Themes embrace the surroundings, neighborhood, inclusion, the function of youth management, and gender equality.
Born in Egypt to an Iraqi father and British mom, Amaal was raised in Lebanon, and has been writing poetry for a few years.
