Dem Rep. Jasmine Crockett suggests ‘slave mentality’ behind Hispanic Trump voters — insists Harris ran ‘flawless’ marketing campaign

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, accused many Hispanic voters of getting a “slave mentality” for supporting President-elect Donald Trump.

“That’s my distilled abstract of what occurs inside the Latino neighborhood,” Crockett informed Vainness Truthful on Friday. “I’ve not run into that with the Asian neighborhood. I’ve not run into that with the African neighborhood. I’ve not run into that with the Caribbean neighborhood. I’ve solely run into it with Hispanics. Once they consider ‘illegals,’ they consider, you realize, possibly those who got here out of the cartels and that sort of, like, the criminal-type e-book or no matter. It’s insane.”

“It virtually jogs my memory of what folks would speak about after they would speak about sort of like ‘slave mentality’ and the hate that some slaves would have for themselves,” she continued. “It’s virtually like a slave mentality that they’ve. It’s wild to me after I hear how anti-immigrant they’re as immigrants, lots of them. I’m speaking about those who actually simply obtained right here and might barely vote which can be having this type of perspective.”

Crockett added that regardless of black voters nonetheless largely voting in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris in the course of the election, there was some “flaking” by black males that she attributed to misogyny.

“I’ll inform you that black folks traditionally have been fiercely loyal. That’s why you continue to see the [turnout] numbers that you just see popping out for black of us, despite the fact that there was a little bit of flaking. And that little bit of flaking got here from black males, which I’m going to chalk as much as misogyny,” Crockett stated.

She additionally disparaged White ladies, claiming they “retreated” and failed Harris simply as they failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016.

“I stated, I don’t belief White ladies. I stated, I’m simply telling you, and I believe you want to have conversations together with your sisters, as a result of they’re the group that failed Hillary Clinton. I imply, if you return and take a look at the numbers, White ladies had been those that failed her. And so in my thoughts, in the event that they failed Hillary, I don’t know that I can consider that they gained’t fail Kamala,” Crockett stated.

She admitted some males she spoke to felt “just like the Democratic Celebration was emasculating them,” however insisted that Harris was a “good candidate” who “ran a flawless marketing campaign.”

As an alternative, Crockett claimed the Democratic Celebration’s drawback was a scarcity of clear messaging and setting an “inconceivable customary” for themselves.

“Why are y’all tearing President Biden down? Like, do you guys understand that [Republicans are] standing with their man? And y’all had been like, ‘do away with Biden as a result of he had a foul debate.’ Nicely, when Trump had a foul debate, they by no means acknowledged it. He simply stated, I’m not doing it no extra, as a result of I ain’t getting my a– kicked once more. I imply, there’s something to be stated for simply requiring this degree of perfection out of nonperfect folks, and I believe Democrats really want to take a great take a look at themselves on that difficulty,” Crockett stated.
