Bay Metropolis Rollers singer Les McKeown dies aged 65


The Scottish pop vocalist was the frontman of the group throughout their Seventies heyday.

A press release from his household on Twitter stated: “It’s with profound unhappiness that we announce the dying of our beloved husband and father Leslie Richard McKeown. Leslie died all of a sudden at house on Tuesday 20 April 2021.

“We’re at present making preparations for his funeral and ask for privateness after the shock of our profound loss. Thanks. Keiko and Jubei McKeown.”

Shaped on the finish of the Sixties, the Bay Metropolis Rollers loved big success at house and overseas with their distinctive tartan outfits and upbeat pop tunes like Bye Bye Child and Shang-a-Lang.
