Australian whale caught in shark nets rescued off Gold Coast

Efforts by rescuers to free a whale off Australia’s Gold Coast Monday have been captured in a dramatic aerial video.

In response to the Australia Broadcasting Firm, a number of folks known as SeaWorld to alert them to the whale in Currumbin. 

The station spoke with SeaWorld’s head of marine sciences, Wayne Phillips, who instructed ABC the whale seemed to be sick, was “stuffed with lice” and had an abscess on its again.

Phillips stated rescue crews have been known as at about 6:30 a.m. native time.

“We ended up arriving and discovering a whale barely entangled. It wasn’t an awesome entanglement,” he stated. 

This isn’t the primary time a whale has been caught in shark management nets this 12 months. 

In July, two humpback whales have been reportedly rescued from shark nets off the Queensland coast.

Whale entanglement in fishing gear is a drawback on this planet’s oceans. 

The whale seemed to be sick, was “stuffed with lice” and had an abscess on its again.
