Antisemitic incidents made up 54% of NYC hate crimes in March: NYPD information

Out of 57 confirmed hate crime incidents in New York Metropolis between March 1 and March 31, 31 (54%) have been anti-Jewish crimes, in accordance with a New York Metropolis Police Division hate crimes database.

In the identical interval, the NYPD recorded two incidents concentrating on Muslims, three in opposition to black individuals and 6 anti-Buddhist incidents.

The 31 antisemitic incidents included 22 felonies, two felony assaults, three misdemeanors and one assault, per the dashboard.

Because the starting of the 12 months, 74 (60%) of the 123 recorded hate crimes have focused Jews, in accordance with the NYPD.

Per the NYPD information, there have been 1,045 confirmed hate crimes in New York Metropolis since Oct. 7, 2023, together with 584 (about 56%) antisemitic incidents.

From Oct. 6, 2022 till Oct. 6, 2023, the NYPD recorded 521 hate crimes, 225 (43%) of which have been antisemitic.
