Anti-virus mogul John McAfee charged with fraud over crypto promotion


John McAfee, creator of the eponymous anti-virus software program, has been indicted in Manhattan federal courtroom on fraud and cash laundering conspiracy crimes, stemming from two schemes in regards to the fraudulent promotion to buyers of cryptocurrencies.

McAfee and his bodyguard Jimmy Gale Watson Jr had been charged over a scheme to take advantage of McAfee’s giant Twitter following by publicly touting cryptocurrency choices and digital tokens that they later bought as soon as costs rose on the promotions, in line with the US Division of Justice and the US Commodity Futures Buying and selling Fee.
