A whole lot of miners, their households, and buddies collect for the earliest midnight mass on Christmas Eve, held 101 meters (331ft) underground on the St Kinga Chapel within the Wieliczka salt mine, a Unesco world heritage website. The miners’ midnight mass initially passed off at 6am on Christmas Eve, permitting two shifts – these ending work and people starting – to unite in worship
